Abstract

One of the aspects that have contributed to development of medicine was the approach between the doctors and the surgeons, which contributed to the anatomy studies. However, the medicine in Portugal had been separated from surgery for a long time. This article tries to understand some aspects that marked the valorization of the surgical and anatomical knowledge in the Portuguese medicine in the eighteen century.
