Abstract

To uncover some of the problems involving the establishment of the Brazilian science has been a systematic concem in the Wst decades. A strong ally in any fonn of science establishment, education has been emphazised here as one of the ways to consider this problem. Taking this into account, the present paper intends to point out some of the issues regarding the early institutional education of both mineralogical and metalurgical sciences in Brazil.
