The object of this work is the Psychology e/aborated and transmitted in Catholic Seminaties in the cities of Seio Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, iri the nineteenth century (until 1870). This documentary material, collected in the libraries ofthes instillltions and evaluates as relevant for the purpose of the researcl,. is related according to a plan of analysis based on concepts of psychological knowledge in the cetury studies.
