Algumas observações históricas e epistemológicas sobre o conceito de átomo clássico

Abstract

This article examines some concepts and hypotheses presented by the scientific comunity of d1e last century conceming the concept of atom. We show that this concept possessedmany scientific and epistemological meanings which were important to give rise to a debate about its necessity in the natural sciences. We also discuss the connections between this concept and some methodological and epistemological ideas developed by some scientist of the period we consider here.
