Abstract

This artic/e reports on the work I have been doing since December, 1992 on Guido Beck 's (1903-1988) archives and also on the problems and difficulties one encounters with this kind of activity in Brazil. Beck was an austrian theoretical physicist trained in Viena in the first ha/f of the 1920 's . Throughout his long and fruitful career, Guido Beck gave many and significantly contributions to the theory of quantum mechanics, from it 's very beginning, as we/1 as to nuclear physics. He held many different positions in Europe, the United States, and finally in South America. This long career is quite we/1 documented in the very many letters and photos he exchanged over 60 years with friends and collaborators ali over the world.
