As visões física e epistemológica de Hertz e suas repercussões

Abstract

This article discuss the epistemological criticism used by Hertz for the analysis of the Newtonian and energetics representations of classical mechanics. We presenta also some relationships, which can be conjectured, between Hertzian representation of classical mechanics and his own work in physics. Finally, we confront Hertz 's ideas with the epistemological thinking of Mach, Boltzmann and Poincaré.
