Copérnico e a Espanha
Abstract
The Iberian Peninsula is usually excludedfrom the History of the Scientific Revolution, as well as from the History of Science in general, without a serious justijication for this attitude. This article intends to show that, as in other European countries, Copernicus' work was actually read and commented by Spanish scientists and theologians of the XVI century, more or less in the sarne way as was hapenning in other parts of Europe. But, in Spain, there was no "independent" scientijic movement that would prepare the country to receive the modem science and philosophy of the XVII century.
