Abstract

ln January 1896 Wilhelm Conrad Rontgensfirst paper on X rays was made known all over the world. There was an immediate wide impact and dozens of researchers began at once to explore this new field, repeating and improving Rontgen s early work. This article analyses the early months of X rays researches and contains a commented translation of the paper published by Rontgen in March 1896.
