Abstract

Isidore of Seville used the term “mathematics” to refer to the disciplines of the quadrivium: arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy. The pitagorical beliefs concerning the formation of the universe are still present in his texts, however covered with the Christian beliefs. We can conjectured if the writings of Isidore would have been one of the roads for which the Modern Age had access of those pitagorical beliefs.
