A importância relativa do número ordinal e cardinal na primeira versão da teoria dos números transfinitos

Abstract

The object of this study is the first statement of the theory of transfinite numbers by G. Cantor, exposed in the article of the year 1883, and part of the french translation, published in the sarne year. ln this translation can be noticed a change in the sections order. Our intention is to identify the relevance of the concepts of ordinality and power in the theory of transfinite numbers limited to these publications. ln this case we intend to certify whether the change in translation is related to the major importance that the notion of power might have to following works.
