This paper draws a panorama of the political persecutions suffered by the Brazilian physicists, in special those at the Federal University of Bahia between 1964 and 1979. It aims to analyze procedures of politico-ideological control performed by the state security boards on that physics institute, as well as to approach it as a microcosm of the political persecutions suffered by the Brazilian citizens everywhere at that time. Our sources include the official correspondence exchanged among the Divisão de Segurança e Informação from the Ministério da Educação e Cultura (DSI/MEC), the Assessoria Especial de Segurança e Informação from the Federal University of Bahia, and the Physics Institute at the same university. This correspondence spans from 1972 to 1977 and its majority was classified.
