In this paper, we analyzed, with a longitudinal approach, the science coverage at the Pará-based Folha do Norte during eight decades. We investigated the issues of January and July every 10 years, since the creation of the newspaper in 1896, until 1974, when it closed the doors. Using content analysis, we observed that the newspaper gave attention to science, in special to health and medicine research, although with variations during the time. The newspaper gave attention to science news, explaining scientific terms and offering relevant information allowing the reader to understand the study, its background and context.
