Fisheries and science in late 19th century Argentina

This article explores different initiatives for the study of fisheries at the Atlantic coast in late 19th century Argentina. This article focuses on scientific practices, institutions involved in those studies, organization of marine exploration, interactions between scientists and fisheries management in order to obtain access to specimens and information, relationships between science and the commercial success of certain products.
